Wonder woman

I very much enjoyed watching Wonder Woman coming to the rescue this summer. A woman’s movie. Done right and done well. Different from all movies I have seen before. And a lot better than I had expected it to be. Maybe a bit too long, maybe too much slo-mo, too much of a fight at the end – however, I loved it.

“‘Wonder Woman’ is smart, slick, and satisfying in all of the ways superhero films ought to be,” it was written in Entertainment Weekly “how deliciously ironic that in a genre where the boys seem to have all the fun, a female hero and a female director are the ones to show the fellas how it’s done.”

Nothing to add.

Hence, when I discovered the Wonder Woman Wrap on Instagram, I had to make one. And that’s what I did.

I need to improve my blocking skills or use different tools (blocking wires rather than t-pins? I wish I knew …). Those dents along the edges were uncalled for.

The pattern – written by Carissa Browning – is free on Ravelry. It knits up really fast and is not complicated at all (once you manage the first triangle). Happay inspired me to add some blue.

So far, there are 1.062 knitted wraps, another 63 chose to make the crocheted version. Hop over and see for yourself – there are obviously quite a few wonder women out there!
